ABOUT

Justin Bare is a low brass performer and educator currently based in the Tampa Bay Area. A recent graduate from the University of South Florida, Justin has been active as a freelance tuba player in the area and has performed with the Venice Symphony, Lakeland Symphony, and Clarion Brass. As a trombonist, Justin has been active as a theater musician primarily working with his hometown theater company, the Henderson Rec Players. He has played gigs in central North Carolina as well as the Tampa Bay Area.

 

As an educator, Justin works as a consultant for area public schools and offers private lessons. In the Tampa Bay Area, he has worked with low brass students in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Manatee Counties. Students with whom Justin has worked have seen success at county, district, and state auditions as well as auditions for university music programs. Additionally, during his time at the University of South Florida, Justin served as a graduate teaching assistant in the music theory department. He also assisted with the operations of the tuba and euphonium studio, conducting the USF tuba and euphonium ensemble and occasionally leading studio meetings.

 

Justin holds a Bachelor of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2021) and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of South Florida (2023). His primary teachers include Dr. Justin Worley (UNCG) and Joseph Alvarez (USF).
